The one that is 10 mins away from me is called JP Comics and then another one that is 25 mins away is called New England Comics. There both great local small places and the people are all really nice.Originally Posted by Mr. Gobbldigook
Is it Hawkeye styled from the movie or still traditional comic book Hawkeye?Originally Posted by Mr. Gobbldigook
The art style is so minimalistic that its hard to tell. he's just kind of a normal guy in the first issue.
Might have to add it to my pull list then.Originally Posted by Mr. Gobbldigook
I really loved that first issue. I need to read the last few batmans I picked up 12 comes out this week. also Kinda pumped to get my kindle fire back. I want to read Action comics superman. but dont want to pick up the trade. I do like grant morrison and havent read superman since the death of superman.
Are you reading the New 52 Batman? I just caught up with that with the whole court of owls thing. Interesting story. It's hard for me to get into DC comics though. I also started reading Ed Brubaker's Winter Solider which is pretty great so far.
Yeah, I just finished issue 8. I was just about to sit down and read a couple more. 12 comes out wednesday.
Have you been following this marvel now stuff? Do you know when those are supposed to start up?
I saw a little bit of it. Sadly I'm a little behind so I don't really know what's going on Marvel wise. I know the whole Marvel Now thing is supposed to be a reboot but isn't actually a reboot. And it's all supposed to take place after this whole Avengers vs X-Men hooplah that is currently going on.
So basically its just a place for people to jump onto series if they never have before?
From my understanding yea. It's so new readers can jump on board to a series with out feeling confused. They are also discontinuing some books as a result. I don't think anything major but some stuff here and there. The only one that I don know that is going to be a big deal new thing is there going to have a title called The Uncanny Avengers where there will be members of the Avengers and the X-Men on the same team.
hm. could be nice. I'd like a good jumping on point for cap, spidey and deadpool at least. This new Hawkeye I really liked and can't wait for more of, and I know this week there's a new Gambit comic. I've never gotten into X-men but I may try it. I always liked gambit as a kid.
cool. I'm about to finish the court of owls stuff... Highly enjoyable stuff. I'm really liking what snyder is doing with batman. There is some weird stuff, but overall I like it. issue 12 comes out on wednesday and will be the start of a new story arc, excited to see what else he is going to do with this run.
cool I'll check out that gambit issue on wednesday.
(I'm glad I have someone to talk to about comics since I'm just getting back into them.)

I would look up the new Batman comics right now, but Demonoid is still down. Kinda weird how they went offline at the same time as TDKR's opening...
Yeah I have to find a good place to download comics. preferably a private tracker. Its not even that I want it for new stuff. I kinda just want it so I can catch up on chew, and maybe read some more of the new 52 stuff that I cant find the first few issues of. I also kind of want to re read Y the last Man but don't really feel like shipping 11 trades across the country.
Me Too! I don't really get a chance to talk to people about comics and also considering Im not current with a lot of stuff that makes it a little bit more challenging. Let me know what you think of Gambit I would be interested in hearing your thoughts. Do you also get stuff off of Comixology? I have been doing that for bigger trades (Like Chew and Walking Dead).
Na I'm a physical media guy when it comes to comics. I'll read some stuff digital. But mostly series that would cost me hundreds to purchase.
Yea same I've been buying all my trades of Walking Dead on comixology because it's easy to have all of them in one place, but stuff I've been reading for years (Spider-Man and the like) I still get individual issues. That being said I'm running out of room in my apt heh.
I'll download comixology and see if I like it. I may like it more if I had an iPad. I don't know how it'll be on my phone.
