The Podcastle And Friends: Sprite Edition

Well last night around midnight I was bored so I started doodling in some sort of style. I ended up drawing Halfie and he wanted to see it, but since I don't have a scanner, the result would look rubbish. So I decided to sprite him instead (being a bit less rubbish), and I ended up spriting The Podcastle crew and friends (Brits).

It got a good reacting on the Twatters so I thought I'd post them here. I'll be working on more over time so erm...stay tuned?

I approve of my look of disdain and general misanthropy.

Well he's never met me and for all of Gibbos talent even he'd have a hard time doing sprite art for a disembodied voice.

If you're going for accuracy, Halfie should have chav dicks in his mouth and butt.

Slap it on some chips, because its awesomesauce.

Also: For accuracy, Halfie should be in an urn.

Not yet. That's the dream. Anyways, an update with the addition of Shakey, The Young Scot and everyone's favourite furry, Gandysampras.

The amount you complain about your internet on Twitter, I'm not surprised that you're willing to give it away!

Update and some story behind each person's sprite.

Sterling: Easy enough sprite to do, although doing the stripes on the shirt got repetitive.

Halfleft: The first one. The second post is meant to show him as a grammar Nazi. He's saluting and he's holding a dictionary, although that's hard to show with a sprite.

Wardrox: He was originally meant to be riding the dinosaur. When I showed it to him without realising my mistake (no leg), he still liked it. So now he's wearing a dinosaur costume.

Atheistium: Probably the most challenging because it was hard to make distinguishing features between man and woman without making her look like a whore. She actually looks like Peppermint Patty from Charlie Brown in the sprite. As for the second pose, that's just because Atheistium always seems so happy.

Wilbo: Another easy one. Second pose shows his firegod side as well as his codpiece and his bag of money (seriously, how does he afford all of those games?)

    Mr.Destructoid: No problems here.

Bunnyrabbit2: I think I captured the metal look here pretty well. The RB Drums are there because Bunny just loves to play Rock Band.

Shakey: I had a brief idea what to do but used his Xbox avatar's clothes for the design. The photoshop thing is self-explanitory if you've ever been in the Podcastle forum

The Young Scot: A bit plain really. The singing is because Scot looks like Thom Yorke of Radiohead.

Gandysampras: It was fun working on the beard. As for the second pose, Gandy is a furry in denial so it's a play on that.

Pheonix: Initially it was hard to make her look different to Atheistium but I got there in the end. I was going to make a cosplay costume for the second pose but decided on a baby in the end since Pheonix is a midwife.

Simmy: Happy enough with this one. I was going to use a RB Guitar for the second pose but decided on his love of Jager in the end.

Fusion: He told me dressed like that in real life so that's what he got. As for the second pose, he is a giant indie (triggerword missile launched: please try explaining that a different way -shitstorm defense mod)(triggerword missile launched: please try explaining that a different way -shitstorm defense mod)(triggerword missile launched: please try explaining that a different way -shitstorm defense mod) so I gave him a beret and scarf.

I thought that maybe I was doing stand up... cause I'm like, kinda funny and stuff...

I AM A PRETTIER MAN THAN THOM YORKE!

But seriously though, these are awesome!

I would just like to point out that in the last week or so, Halfie has been a grammatical disaster. He's misspelling stuff all over the place, using improper punctuation, and generally bringing shame upon all with a Grammar Nazi badge.

I don't know what happened. He says he's "tired".

I don't actually wear bowler hats in real life.
But the whole jacket and black jeans type thing is relatively accurate

    Kudos to you sir

Tired of grammar? Or...REtired? Does he wish to venture into new worlds? See all the famous grammar magicians of the world? Live with the Monks?
