What games are YOU currently playing?

Tried out the beta for the FFXIV reboot. For a beta things were running pretty smooth. I definitely want to try it on pc now, because interface management is kind of weird on the controller.

I'm a pugilist (aka monk) cat man named Chip Damage. I only played to level 4. With tutorials and some basic fucking around taken into account, it took me four hours to get there. This is the first MMO I have tried and it has done nothing to change my mind about MMOs being ginormous time-sinks. I doubt I'll get the full version, but I'm going to try and stick with the beta until at least level 15.

Been in a bit of a slump with Monster Hunter recently, but I managed to get out of it today. Was stuck in the single player quests trying to capture a Lagiacrus. Capturing monsters is a real pain in the arse, and picking the right time to trap that one was especially tricky. Took me about four or five tries. I've also been having bad luck online too. Just seemed to have been in really crappy hunts, and being matched with other players who definitely weren't helping either. Hopefully things will pick up for that too like in SP.

I've also been continuing through Lords of Shadow. Just done the second Titan. I can see why people take issue with these boss fights, but I don't necessarily think it's fair to call them SotC rip-offs. They are obviously inspired by SotC, and are also not as good as in that game, but I don't think that's really enough to call the game a straight rip. It's one element they've taken, but it's just one part of a whole in the game. I actually like that they are there. You don't really see many games any more with absolutely huge bosses like that anymore, and when you do they are usually conveniently stationary and standing next to a platform that just so happens to go up to their chest height. The Titans here feel a lot more like actual creatures who can move around by themselves, instead of just being set pieces on display for you. They also look pretty spectacular and the game does a really good job of selling their sheer scale.

The problem though is that they're not really that fun to fight. They move so slowly, and there's only one path up them to get to their weak spots. It feels like it's far too much just trial and error.

But still, I like them in concept. I hope they make them more interesting in the sequel.

Playing the shit out of Arkham City GOTY again. Well the base again, never played Harley's DLC. Shooting stuff in Painkiller H&D, Raiding shit in Revelations with my lovely Lady Hunks and blasting through Borderlands 2 again. Beat Gunpoint the other day and a couple others.... need to update my post in that one thread.

Alpha Protocol on Steam but I'm having difficulty in getting my Xbox controller to work with it.
