Picked up LA Noire while I was out tonight. Fuck what I said in my previous post, I'm playing this instead because it's hilarious.

Not even trying to get a good score on this one. I'm just thugging it up with 50's cop, wrecking civilian cars and calling kids liars when I know they're telling the truth. Awesome!

Eh...after finishing the Slip of the Tongue bonus thing, I can appreciate how GTA style mayhem isn't this game's strong suit. I don't think you can even draw your weapon until you enter one of the prescribed shooting sections. Wrecking cars gets old pretty fast too. All it really does is interrupt the dialogue between you and your partner.

I haven't looked over the manual very well, so it took me a while to see how the interrogation thing works. The cool thing was, I figured out how to connect a lie to a particular piece of damning evidence while on the very last suspect. So I made him talk the first time and saw what happens when you solve the case. Then I reloaded and botched the lead on purpose, just to see what the faliure scenario would be. I had read somewhere that you could completely screw a case up and still succeed, so it was good to learn that wasn't true. I got two completely different cutscenes when I did that.

Seems to be the way to do it.

I was under the impression that the Demons Souls server was shut down at this point?

Yeah, it was really funny with that first traffic case.

Obviously innocent teenage kid: "But Detective, I have the title and registration for my car right he-"

Detective Grumpy: "GRRRR, I DON'T CARE! YOU ARE UNDER ARREST FOR CAR THIEVING"

Trying to play through the original Ratchet & Clank, but man has it aged. Still looks good, but the voices are slightly worse, and the controls are definitely not as responsive as they should be. Makes me appreciate the vast improvements in Going Commando (Which still holds up in all aspects). Plus, the guns don't level up, and it makes me sad.

needa break, so I started playing Oniken

which is real good thus far!! albeit rather easy.

game would definitely benefit from a smaller life bar.

Jen and I have started Dead Island as her copy came while we were away.

Just wrapped up the achievements on Tony Hawk's PS HD, played a spot of Minecraft, got a monster spawner/item depositor working along with a slime farm so Jen can play around with pistons and making fancy doors.

It was gonna be shut down, but Dark Souls was so successful that now we have lots of new folk playing Demon's Souls. Namco is keeping them up.

I hope they touched up the controls on the first R&C for the HD collection that's coming out. Turning the cameras with the shoulder buttons was a real pain in the ass.

You're thinking of Ratchet & Clank Size Matters. In that game, you turn the camera with the shoulder buttons due to lack of a right stick. In the original, you turn the camera with the right stick.

I'm playing Avadon: The Black Fortress on Steam and Metroid Prime Trilogy on Wii. This is my first time with Prime. I really, really don't like the Wii controls though. For whatever reason I can't get my brain to control moving with the nunchuck and aiming with the Wiimote at the same time. I wonder if I should switch hands because then I'd be moving Samus with my left hand like when I'm playing an FPS on PS3 or something.

Wait, you're saying you hold the Nunchuck in your right hand. The Nunchuck is primarily made for the left hand, and controls Samus, so why aren't you using it in your left hand?

You're right. I just know that I didn't like the camera in the first game. Now that I remember, I think it's because it pans the opposite directions than what I prefer to play with, and it doesn't let you switch the direction. Either that, or it was too slow or something.

I'm left handed so it usually feels more natural for me to have the Wiimote in my left hand. Yeah...I'm one of those people.

I'm still angry the Wii version of Twilight Princess mirrored the entire game just so Link could be right handed.

You can switch the pitch for the x and y axis, but it IS slow. Well, it's alright, but in comparison to every other R&C game, it's painfully slow.

Ahh, gotcha. Well switch hands anyway?

I totally agree. As a hardcore Zelda fan, it bothered me that Link was right-handed. Plus the fact that I beat TP for GC before Wii, so having everything mirrored totally fucked with my head. Shame that Skyward Sword has the same problem. I actually have the Master Sword tattooed on my left forearm, and Hylian Shield on my right forearm, yet haven't played a motion-controlled Zelda game that follows suit. Sadface.
