I always wanted them to do an expanded version of Mercs from RE3, where you'd run around rescuing civilians and shooting monsters without any real story. But then again I also wanted them to keep making scary RE games, and they didn't really do that either.

    RE:ORC minus the rescuing civilians.

Or RE:ORC's DLC, even less story and you rescue Jill and Carlos a little bit. It's a little sad that ORC's DLC has been the most enjoyable piece of Resident Evil gameplay, to me, since Code:Veronica. Possibly Umbrella/Darkside Chronicles.

Resident Evil was never scary. Not once.

RE3 was, when you didn't know the tricks to stopping Nemesis from chasing you.

I thought all of the classic games were scary. Crimson heads and Amy (from REmake), lickers and Mr.X, Nemesis, etc. The inherent nature of survival horror makes anything potentially horrifying when you have 30 bullets and each basic enemy takes 3-5 to take out, and the bigger things take more.

Shouldn't this be in the RE series thread instead of RE5's?

RE1-2-3 had the best jumps. 4 and 5 didn't have any, and as a result, they were not scary.
    Silent Hill was always scarier.

I don't think any of the RE games were ever truly terrifying (except, maybe as a kid) but Nemesis was scary and the REmake was unsettling at times.

oh yeah, they did an excellent job with that one. The bits with Lisa especially.

Watched the Giant Bomb quick look of RE6.

This does not look like a good game at all.

    PROS
    1. Can shoot while moving

    CONS
    1. Camera is WAY too fucking close. Your character takes up too much of the FOV
    2. All the "zombies" seem to have guns.

They said it controls kind of shitty as well, real floaty.

I noticed some terrible screen tearing with RE5 and Dead Rising that I've played lately, is it something that's struck Capcom in the modern era?

RE 4 was scary or at the very least very unsettling.

Resident Evil 4 was "thrilling" and tense, but never scary. Great atmosphere still.

I bought RE5 Gold PS3 in prefect condition for $17, and I think I'll do the same for RE6. I just got a cheap Move bundle so that might make me want to play it again. I'm Arttemis on PSN, and I'll be on this afternoon and/or tonight.

I didn't really like RE5 at first, but my second play through it really grew on me. I'm just about finished with the game on professional mode.

And to anyone who didn't think RE4 was scary:

Up for this now. Assuming my mom's internet can handle it.
