Now that we have this nifty forum to help everyone come together and keep in touch, you might be interested to know that there are a few other methods by which you can keep up with the Retroforce crew and help spread the love. So without further yapping, here are some ways you can level up:
--RFGO Shirts--
We have a shirt! It is awesome. You can buy it
here.
Pretty ladies can buy the girly-sized version
here.
--Facebook groups--
Nick Huber has been awesome enough to set up a Facebook group for fans of the show. If you'd like to join it, you can do so
here.
Additionally, if Chad or Dyson have ever mispronounced your name on the show, Dan Gale (Don Gahlay) has set up a special group for you, called
MispronunciationForceGO.
--Twitter--
The web 2.0 flavor of the week. We have an official RFGO Twitter, which is updated by the whole cast whenever we feel like it. Sometimes it's me, sometimes Dyson, Colette, you never know. The mystery makes it extra fun. You can follow that
right here if you'd like. And if you
really want to stalk us, some of us have our own personal Twitters as well.
Dyson
Topher
Colette
Stella
Rev Anthony
Chad doesn't have one, but feel free to pester him and see if you can persuade him to jump in.
By the way, Colette and I run a collectible toy culture blog called
Tomopop. You can see us write about stuff there. We also both write for
Japanator if you're an otaku like us.
--Old episodes--
Our awesome pal Craineum has been kind enough to create and upload a torrent containing all of our older episodes that can't be found on iTunes or Destructoid. You can grab that
right here. If you download it, please be nice and seed it for a while so that others can enjoy our antique bouts of nonsense. They're old. That makes them extra retro!
--Hearing the show early--
You always see me write in the show posts that you can get the show early from iTunes. It's true! If you
subscribe to us on iTunes, you can access new episodes as soon as I upload them. This usually works out to around 12-14 hours before the show post appears on the Destructoid homepage. Neat, huh? Be the envy of all your friends. If you're not down with Apple, you can still subscribe to the show using Google, Podnova, or the podcatcher of your choice. Hit up
RetroforceGO.com and check out the sidebar on the right side of the page for all the info you need on how to do that.
--Getting your question onto the show--
We get lots of listener questions every week, and as much as we'd like to answer all of them, there just isn't time. How do you catch our attention? Here are some hints:
1. Wall of text with 15 different questions in it = Bad.
2.
"Would you rather eat a dolphin or give up your SNES for a year" = No.
3.
"Which retro game should get the Mega Man 9 treatment?" = We get this question every week, and we've already answered it a hundred times. Plz stop.
4. Yes, we have day jobs. Anything overly-personal gets ignored. Let's not be nosy, eh?
5.
"What do you think of this week's VC/XBLA/WiiWare/general show topic?" = Kind of a waste of your question, isn't it?
6. Be creative! We're not at all opposed to talking about toys, bacon, animals, violins, whatevs. The more unique (and funny) your question is, the more likely we are to pick it, and the better your chance at winning the awesome prize. And believe me, most of them are
seriously awesome prizes.
--Pro Tips LUL--
1. Want to hang out with us? Come to PAX! We'd love to meet you, and every member of the cast will be there. ('Cept Anthony, because he's antisocial.) Come say hello and let us rape your face.
2. We're not sure if everyone catches it, but there's always a bonus sound clip after the show's ending music. It is usually pretty funny. Usually.
3. Stella Wong's Dtoid username is Aiya. Be nice to Aiya so we don't have to stomp your guts out.
4. We love the Atari 2600. And the Commodore 64. And the Colecovision. We love lots of stuff, and we've been playing games for about as long as they've been around. That's about 30-some years in math talk, and that's a lot of ground to cover. If we haven't talked about your favorite topic yet, please don't throw rocks at us. We'll get to it eventually.
--We love you--
No, seriously, we do. You guys are awesome, and we couldn't be happier that you like the show. We have as much fun recording it as you probably do listening to it, and we're thrilled that we get to keep going. Thank you! COME TO PAX!
