THE SEVEN DESTRUCTOID FORUM COMMANDMENTS
1) Thou shalt not suck.
Sucking consists of:
L33tspeek posts
intros that say nothing about you
being an obnoxious dick for no reason
anything already covered in the below rules
excessive 4Chan,Gamefaqs,NeoGaf idiocy (unless it's LOL)
and finally
anything not covered by these rules that the community overwhelmingly decides sucks and lets you know.
Before posting, please ask yourself: "Is what I'm about to say interesting on any level?" If yes, proceed. Hell, be as funny as you can bare. Just don't suck. We beg you.
If a newb freaks out that you told him not to suck when posts for the first time in the Meet and Greet, the newb clearly did not read the forum rules. Please enlighten the weak links so that they understand our community.
2) Thou shalt not put thy socks in my sandwich
Know where you are posting before you post. Each forum has a description, so read it and make sure you're posting in the right area.
3) Thou shall not power-level thy post count
I know its fun to level your avatar. It's commendable, even. But know this - I don't care if you occasionally make one word posts. That can be funny. Just don't be that guy that trolls around, spends all day writing 3 word posts like "that's fresh man!" and "you suck dude". No. I will throw a samurai sword in your eye. The penalty is resetting your post count to zero and a big fat red steak, fresh meat!
4) Thou shalt not be a flaming flamer
Try to refrain from participating in flame wars. It is a real turn off to everyone else in the forum. We know how tempting it may be to publicly humiliate someone on here but we ask that you keep it private. (use Private Messaging instead, flaming flamer) This is the easiest way to get banned - you get a single warning from me before I cool you down with my arctic delete blast special combo move.
5) Thou shalt not peddle the wares of heathens
No Illegal Content: We consider any of the following illegal. Nudity/Porn, Kiddie Porn, Warez, Hacking Files, Cracks, Pirated Software, Viruses. Gray area stuff is ok: emulation, scanned video game materials, semi-SFW bikini type stuff is always welcome. Like all the time. Go nuts.
6) Thou shalt not be a fame whore
No Spamming: Do not start posts for the purpose of promoting your web site. Unless your link is pertinent to a discussion already in progress, any external link posted will be deleted and your account will be banned asap, no warning. Got video game news? Send it to the tips line. This goes for your CBlog, your myspace band page. Anything. If you want to let people know about something you did, put it in a relevant thread. Don't start a new one.
7) Thou shalt not cause drama in the LBC
We will ninja attack you if you are a drama queen. If you continually stir up obnoxious drama of any kind in the forum you will be banned. This is measured by three strikes. The third one comes without warning and you're out with a vengeance: your IP address will also be blocked to prevent alias accounts from letting you back in.
