My previous posts have been less than eloquent and that's just my way of expression. Not apologizing for that, but the point is I find the gaming media to be a corrupt and shallow medium that places misguided advocacy over honest reporting. Tackling this whole topic in one post is impossible and I will be jumping around quite a bit. I will be posting various sources to support my claims and numerous quotes from certain anonymous image boards where we disuss these topics daily. Websites like Kotaku (And rightly so when you have sister site like jezebel http://n4g.com/user/blogpost/dedicatedtogamers/521785) and now destructoid would rather publish clickbait than quality content. You can go ahead and make the argument well the social issues dont apply to me so you hate them arguement. And to that I can agree with. They dont apply to me, but I dont feel they even would be issues if we didnt keep manufacturing controversy and reporting on them on a daily basis.

I am here to discuss the content of video games the design and philosophies of video games not the social justice brigades opinion on why this or that is sexist or offensive to any group. Video games are not socio-political soapboxes.(See here http://youtu.be/6MxWMJCOKSY?t=1h21m44s)

"And our winner of sorts, is ….Corrupt Journalism. People don’t want the facts. They want hot, throbbing, veiny, pulsating, bulging, dribbling, sweaty… opinions. They want IGN to tell them which casual corridor based brown person shooting game to play while eating Doritos, drinking Mountain Dew, and soaking their extra large mass effect hoodies with salty bitch tears. This is the same branch of Journalism that reviews games from the same companies that sponsor their hosting fees; the same journalists that work for a game company, write favorable reviews of said companies games, and threaten libel against anyone that points this out. This is the same branch of Journalism that will publish any three sentence blurb so long as the headline is controversial enough to create traffic via backlinks. Does Khotaku have people investigating the fate of The Last Guardian? No! They want you to know that the phallic shaped pipes in Mario are sexist and why it is immoral NOT to have sex with your house pets. Gaming Journalism evokes the most damage and ill will within and against the gaming community via dishonest reviews, pandering, intentionally divisive arguments, mischaracterization of persons and events, as well as outright lies. They think of their readers as children with no talent for critical thought. And you prove them right with every click. Sincerely, Emptyhero aka. the Smegma King"

If you would rather read articles about why dragon crown is sexist or why there were no woman at the sony presconference (see Annoyed gamer at the 7 minute mark http://www.gametrailers.com/videos/v...ng-for-outrage) then fine you can contribute to turning gaming journalism into TMZ and making these bloggers in the paparazzi. I would argue that video game enthusiasts ( I hate the term gamer) would rather read about how nintendo goes about aproaching level design with new Mario games, but i'm sure the jimquisition and sexism articles generate more hits and are better clickbait. I wish websites like Gamasutra were more popular as this is exactly what I'm talking about but I can understand it being too boring for the average reader.

Trans Issue

The story, for those of you who haven't heard, can be found here: *_Link...

The story, for those of you who haven't heard, can be found here: Link. The words straight out of his mouth on Twitter can be found here: Link. The tl;dr version is that Allistair Pinsof found it necessary to out a transgender* woman who is closeted everywhere but the internet (a common survival tactic among trans* folk who don't feel safe coming out in their real lives) over his twitter, and claimed that he was justified in doing this in the name of journalistic integrity.

This isn't about a possible scam. It isn't about the definition of the word "lifesaving." It's about a Destructoid writer acting in a completely unethical manner. It is never, under any circumstances, okay to out a transgender* person. To do so while that person is recovering in a hospital from a suicide attempt is beyond comtemptible.

I am an out trans* woman. I am also a member of the Destructoid community. How Destructoid handles this issue deeply affects me and the sizable amount of transgender* Dtoiders who are not out. People who have come to me to tell me how strong I am, and how much it means to them that I am out and proud and that I speak out on the site for those who can't. I could no longer face these people if I didn't speak out now.

What can Destructoid do to fix this problem? It's a question I don't completely have the answer to, but I know it starts with this: I am calling for the termination of Allistair Pinsof as a destructoid employee. I am also asking for a public apology from Destructoid. Finally, I would ask that destructoid run an article that raises awareness about transgender issues as they relate to the games industry (Yes, I am aware that a community member's article was promoted, that's not what I'm talking about). Think of it as community service.

Destructoid has been a home for me for many years. Some of my best friends I have met on the site, and I would not be living where I am right now were it not for the connections I made through dtoid. It hurts my heart to have its name attached to such actions, and the sooner it makes amends for this, the sooner I can go back to being a happy member of the community. Until then, I feel like an outcast.

I'm just wondering everyone's thoughts on the new layout, and to personally show my disgust for it.
I find the new layout looks far too bland, and way too blocky. By blocky I mean the way the 360 dashboard has gone over the past year or so, and that horrendous recent update to the PSN Store.
Also, the amount of white on the screen is damn near blinding, and there's a bunch of wasted space.
I do not see how this is it all pleasant on the eyes.
